5 December 2014	Expert Group Meeting on "Identification of legislative gaps for the full implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security in the Arab Region"	ESCWA is implementing the project: “Institutional and capacity building for Parliaments in Selected Arab Countries and other stake holders to implement SCR 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security”. The project’s goal is to build the capacity of Arab parliaments in Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Tunisia, and Libya. The project also includes the production of a regional study on the gaps in legislation for the implementation of SCR 1325 on women, peace and security in selected Arab Countries.
5 December 2014	Strengthening National Capacities in Environment Statistics, Indicators and Accounts in support of progress toward achieving the internationally agreed development goals in the ESCWA and ECLAC Regions	Background The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) is implementing the activities planned in the project "Strengthening National Capacities in Environment Statistics, Indicators and Accounts in support of progress toward achieving the internationally agreed development goals in the ESCWA and ECLAC Regions".
11 December 2014	Workshop on “Measuring Wellbeing and Progress of Arab Societies”	Beirut, 29 October 2010 (UN Information Service) — ESCWA, in close collaboration with the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), is organizing the first coordinators’ workshop on “Measuring Wellbeing and Progress of Arab Societies” from 1 to 5 November 2010, at the UN House in Beirut.
11 December 2014	Arab Integration: A 21st Century Development Imperative	“Arab Integration: A 21st Century Development Imperative” is the name of the flagship report produced by ESCWA in preparation for the upcoming Arab Economic Forum set to be held in Tunisia early next year. To launch the report, the Carnegie Middle East Centre is organizing a panel at 9:30 AM tomorrow Tuesday, at the Pheonicia Intercontinental Hotel, Beirut. The panel, which will gather leading thinkers from the Arab region, will be opened by former Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf.

17 March 2020	Launching the 2020 ICP Cycle & Treatment of 2018 Price Data	ESCWA conducted a regional meeting for launching the 2020 ICP Cycle and for Treatment and Validation of 2018 Household and Non-Household Consumption Price Data. With the 2017 ICP Cycle coming to an end, the 2020 ICP Cycle will require full collection of data for 2020 to eventually compute PPPs and the corresponding indicators. 12 May 2020	Oil Market Crisis, COVID-19, Economic Recovery: Implications for Arab Countries	The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) jointly with King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES), Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP) and the Arab Energy Club (AEC), is organizing an online event to discuss the impact of the collapse of global oil prices and energy markets and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the energy transition and transformation of the energy systems.
20 May 2015	Enhancing Fiscal Capacity to Attain the Millennium Development Goals: Financing Social Protection	This paper discusses the financing of social protection in the current fiscal circumstances after assessing the impact of the Arab Spring on public finances.
16 September 2016	Roundtable discussion on estimating the cost of violence against women in the Arab region	The ESCWA Centre for Women and UN-Women are organizing a roundtable discussion on estimating the cost of violence against women. The meeting shall discuss the draft conceptual model to estimate the cost of violence against women in the Arab region with the aim of soliciting input from economists, statisticians and sociologists towards its finalization. This model is expected to be easily adapted and used by Arab member States to populate it and calculate an empirical estimate of the cost of violence in their respective countries.
