Oil Market Crisis, COVID-19, Economic Recovery: Implications for Arab Countries

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) jointly with King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES), Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP) and the Arab Energy Club (AEC), is organizing an online event to discuss the impact of the collapse of global oil prices and energy markets and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the energy transition and transformation of the energy systems. Experts from Arab countries, Europe and the US will join to discuss the scenarios of oil prices, uptake of energy demand and implications of oil market crisis on both hydrocarbon and clean energy sectors and how COVID19 would shape the prioritization of different economic sectors in the Arab region.
