ESCWA is implementing the project: “Institutional and capacity building for Parliaments in Selected Arab Countries and other stake holders to implement SCR 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security”. The project’s goal is to build the capacity of Arab parliaments in Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Tunisia, and Libya. The project also includes the production of a regional study on the gaps in legislation for the implementation of SCR 1325 on women, peace and security in selected Arab Countries. In this regard, ECW is organizing, in collaboration Economic Commission for Africa, Inter-Parliamentary Union, an Expert Group Meeting in Beirut, on 17 and 18 December 2013.
