Kuwait Hosts First Annual Arab Internet Governance Forum |
Under the joint patronage of the League of Arab States (LAS) and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the First Annual Arab Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will be hosted by the Kuwait Information Technology Society (KITS) on 9-11 October 2012, at the Regency Kuwait Hotel. The meeting will be held in collaboration with the Arab IGF Secretariat represented by the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt, and is sponsored by a number of institutions, including Zain, Réseaux IP Européens (RIPE), ICANN and APTLD. |

Launching of the National Campaign for Air Pollution Reduction in Lebanon through Efficient Use in Land Transportation |
Supported by ESCWA, the Lebanese Ministry of Environment and the UN Development Program (UNDP), IPT Energy Centre (IPTEC) launched today the “National Campaign for Air Pollution Reduction in Lebanon through Efficient Use in Land Transportation” . The event was held under the patronage of Lebanese Minister of Environment Nazem Khoury at the Ministry premises. UN Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf will be delivering the statement of the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, in the First Annual Asian Cooperation Dialogue Summit to be held in the city of Kuwait on 15-17 October 2012. The Summit will convene 31 Heads of State and Government to discuss a wide range of issues in the political, economic, social, scientific and public information fields. |
