9 June 2021	7th Session of Arab Climate Outlook Forum (ArabCOF) 4th Session of Gulf Cooperation Council Climate Outlook Forum (GCC-COF)	The Arab Climate Outlook Forum (ArabCOF), cutting across multiple Regional Associations, was established following the decision of the Executive Office of the Council of Minsters responsible for Meteorology and Climate, under the League of Arab States, endorsed in April 2017. The Scoping Meeting for the Establishment of the ArabCOF held in Amman, October 2014 agreed on the following key objectives of the forum: • Generate consensus outputs on seasonal forecasts (1-2 per year) and to carry out regional climate change assessments.
10 June 2021	Capacity-Building Workshop on “Projects Design, Drafting Proposals, Feasibility Studies, and Managing Projects in the Water-Energy-Food Nexus”	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)” Project, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in partnership with the Municipalities of Akkar Al-Atika and Chaqdouf, is organizing a capacity-building workshop on “Projects Design, Drafting Proposals, Feasibility Studies, and Managing Projects in the Water-Energy-Food Nexus”. This workshop will build the capacities of members of the municipalities of Akkar Al-Atika and Chaqdouf in the fields of projects design, drafting projects’ proposals, feasibility studies, and managing projects in the Water-Energy-Food Nexus.
10 June 2021	Workshop on Developing a Strategic Framework for Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Systems in Arab countries	Civil registration and vital statistics play a key role in facilitating the monitoring of progress in the SDGs where they serve as a denominator for a wide range of demographic goals and indicators. These statistics are a source of continuous and up-to-date information on birth, death and population statistics. Arab countries have civil registration systems, but some are unable to produce vital statistics according to international standards and recommendations.

17 June 2021	Side Event on “Women-led rural development through renewable energy”	Within the framework of the High Level Dialogue on Energy 2021, the online Side Event on “Women-led rural development through renewable energy” is organised by ESCWA in partnership with ENERGIA, GWNET, and SEWA on the sidelines of the Ministerial Thematic Forum on Enabling SDGs through Inclusive, Just Energy Transitions. The objective of the side event is to convene regional and international partners active in gender empowerment, rural development, and renewable energy to exchange experiences and lessons learned from the challenges and opportunities facing gender empowerment and rural development.

21 June 2021	COSP14 Side Event on "Protecting the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Pandemics and Crises"	ESCWA organized a side event on the sidelines of the 14th session of the Conference of States Parties (COSP14) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) under the title of: “Protecting the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Pandemics and Crises". ESCWA held the side event in collaboration with the League of Arab States (Social Affairs Sector), Kuwait’s Ministry of Social Affairs, and the Arab Organization for Persons with Disabilities (AOPD).
