The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor in Lebanon is conducting a three-day capacity-building workshop on "Digital Technology and Employment" from 14 to 16 October 2020.

This workshop aims to raise awareness about the important role that digital technology and innovation play in employment and in creating new job opportunities for individuals in general, and for youth and women in particular, and to gain better knowledge of the main focus areas of national technology plans and policies that have a direct impact on employment.

The workshop includes five  sessions with presentations on the following topics: the status of ICT and employment in Lebanon, challenges and opportunities in the labor market in Lebanon, best practices for digital technology and innovation policies, basic concepts of labor market information systems (LMIS), challenges and opportunities in women's work in Lebanon. The workshop also includes two panel sessions on the role of different parties in promoting job opportunities, and the role of ICT in the national labor market plan in Lebanon.
