أنشطة مكمّلة يقوم بها موظفو الشركات أنفسهم تأتي في إطار تعريف الحماية البيئية. أمثلة على ذلك جمع النفايات أو مياه الصرف الصحيّ ومعالجتها، أجهزة تنظيف الهواء في محطات توليد الكهرباء ووحدات إدارة البيئة داخل الشركات.
