Definition:
The cyclical component of a time series refers to (regular or periodic) fluctuations around the trend, excluding the irregular component, revealing a succession of phases of expansion and contraction.
The cyclical component can be viewed as those fluctuations in the time series that are longer than a threshold eg. 1 year.

يشير العنصر الدوري في سلسلة زمنية إلى التبدلات (العادية أو الدورية) في المنحى، ممّا يعكس تتابعًا لمراحل التوسع و الإنقباض، مع استثناء المكون غير النظامي.
يمكن إعتبار العنصر الدوري كالتقلبات في السلسلة الزمنية والتي هي أطول من عتبة ما مثلاً سنة ونصف لسنة.
