وهي جزء من اتفاقية تجبر الدول الأعضاء على اعتبار سياساتها الاقتصادية موضع اهتمام مشترك، وعلى تنسيق هذه السياسات داخل مجلس الاتّحاد الأوروبي. تشكّل الخطوط التوجيهية الموسعة للسياسات الاقتصادية أبرز صكّ من هذه الاتفاقية.
