التعريف:
عدد أو مقدار يستخدم كمعيار أو مرجع. قد يأتي على شكل مقام كسر في حساب معدل أو نسبة مئوية. قد يكون أيضًا مقدار سلاسل زمنيّة محدّدة يجب الانطلاق منها للقيام بحساب سلسلة نسبيّة جديدة- رقم قياسيّ- ستظهر المشاهدات إذ تزداد في المستقبل مقارنة بفترة الأساس.
