29 September 2017	Executive Secretary Discusses with Libyan Official Mutual Cooperation	United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCWA Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim received on Wednesday 27 September 2017 Libya’s State Minister of Displaced and Migrant Affairs Youssof Abu Baker Jalala at the UN House in Beirut. Both officials discussed cooperation between ESCWA and Libya. Jalala commended the efforts of ESCWA and the organizers of the Regional Consultative Meeting on International Migration in the Arab Region held in Beirut on 26-27 September 2017.
11 August 2017	Executive Secretary Continues Official Visits	Beirut, 11 August 2017 (Communication and Information Unit) -- UN Under-Secretary-General ESCWA Executive Secretary Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim continued this week his official visits. Al-Hakim took over his functions at the helm of the regional commission last May. In this context, Al-Hakim today visited Minister of Energy and Water César Abi Khalil on top of a delegation including Director of Sustainable Development and Policies Division Roula Majdalani and Chief of Energy Section Radia Sedaoui.

11 December 2014	Tallawy Meets with Aboul Gheit	UNESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy met in Khartoum today with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Aboul Gheit. Discussions focused on the regional situation, what UNESCWA is providing for Palestine and Iraq, and Arab regional integration. Tallawy is in the Sudanese capital to attend the Arab Summit on 28 and 29 March 2006 as part of the United Nations delegation.

11 December 2014	Nepalese Messenger of Peace Pushkar Shah Visits UN-ESCWA, Meets with Executive Secretary	UN-ESCWA Executive Secretary, Mr. Bader Omar Al Dafa, received today Mr. Pushkar Shah, the Nepalese teacher who is touring the world on a bicycle to spread the message of peace. Shah presented to Al Dafa the motives behind the journey he initiated in 1998, and which ends next year, once he finishes visiting 150 countries. During his visit to every country, Shah tours different schools, clubs, local communities and United Nations headquarters to speak about peace, respect for other religions and cultures, living in harmony, respect for human rights and democratic values.
6 February 2018	Constitution and Elections in Syria	The NAFS meeting on the Constitution and Elections in Syria, will launch and discuss the two recent NAFS studies “Constitutional Options for Syria” and “Future Elections in Syria” in the aim of promoting reconciliation and reflecting the priorities of a broad range of Syrian people.
