The Bulletin of Industrial Statistics for the Arab Countries aims to provide detailed industrial data on Arab countries for the users of such statistics, including policymakers, analysts and researchers, in order to assist them in meeting their needs in this area. The publication includes time series of data and indicators for the period 2001-2007. Data are drawn primarily from national sources, as well as from secondary sources where appropriate. The Bulletin is divided into two parts. |

Workshop on Women's Political Participation in Lebanon |
The National Commission for Lebanese Women (NCLW), in cooperation with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), organized a workshop on Women's Political Participation in Lebanon on 10 October 2019 in Beirut.
NCLW's members, together with ESCWA Center for Women's experts, discussed the broad lines of the National Commission's advocacy strategy with the political parties in Lebanon to promote women's political participation and representation and agreed on its major messages. |

The ESCWA Centre for Women and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Regional Office in Beirut are organizing a workshop on monitoring, control and protection of human rights including sexual and reproductive health and rights. This workshop, which will be held from 6-8 May 2018 in Amman – Jordan, targets national human rights institutions and national women machineries in the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as in some countries of the Horn of Africa. |

Empowering Iraqi Women for Upcoming Elections |
To boost direct support for and to prepare Iraqi women for the upcoming elections, an UNESCWA workshop was held on 13 December on “Building A New Iraq: Women’s Role in the Political Process”. The workshop was organized by the UNESCWA Center for Women in cooperation with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC. Funding was provided by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) Washington, DC. |
