As part of the "Capacity Building of the Iraqi Public Sector Management" project, implemented in partnership with UNDP Iraq, ESCWA will hold a Meeting on the Framework for Management Development in Iraq on 21-23 March 2009 in Beirut, Lebanon. It is expected that the meeting will build upon the conclusions and outcomes of the Stakeholders Meeting scheduled on 15 March 2009 in Baghdad, Iraq, which involves the active participation of major public sector stakeholders concerned by public sector development, and aims to identify the needs and priorities of the public sector. 



As a follow-up on the Western Asia Preparatory Conference for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) that was held in Beirut from 4 to 6 February 2003, and culminated with the Beirut Declaration, and within the regional preparatory activities for the first phase of the Summit, to be held in December 2003, the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing an Expert Group Meeting on “Promotion of Digital Arabic Content (DAC)” that will take place from 3 to 5 June 2003 at the UN-House, Beirut, Lebanon.
 

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA ), in collaboration with UN Agencies, custodians of SDG indicators, is organizing a series of webinars  on selected SDG indicators that are less produced in the Arab region to create a common understanding among data producers on how to collect, measure and disseminate SDG indicators to increase data production and enhance national data flow to policy makers, other users and custodian agencies.
