ESCWA Launches “Under an Olive Tree in Palestine” Poster |
Beirut, 26 Oct 2011 (UN Information Service) — “Under an Olive Tree in Palestine” is the slogan of a poster launched today by ESCWA as part of its efforts to raise awareness about the socio-economic repercussions of Israeli occupation in Palestine, including settlements and the policies of blockades and closures. The poster was distributed to UN headquarters in New York, Geneva, Vienna and to many UN agencies in Lebanon. ESCWA also provided the Palestinian Authority and some non-governmental organizations with copies for use and circulation. |

Beirut, 15 April 2020--While it has been agreed worldwide that handwashing with soap and water is the best prevention against COVID-19 contagion, this simple act proves to be difficult in a region where 74 million people lack access to a basic handwashing facility. |

Regulatory, Institutional and Financial Frameworks Needed to Promote Small-Scale Renewable Energy Technologies and Applications for Rural Development |
