ESCWA Launches Cyber Legislation Directives |
Beirut, 4 May 2012 (ESCWA Communication and Information Unit)— During its coming 27th Ministerial Session, ESCWA will launch a series of directives on “Cyber Legislation” at 12:00 noon on Thursday, 10 May, 2012 at the U.N. House in Beirut to shed light on the results of the commission’s activities in the field of cyber laws. The importance of cyber legislation stems from its role in securing a regulatory and legal environment suitable for the flourishing of the Information and Communication technology (ICT) sector. |

First Arab States Regional South-South Development EXPO |
The first Arab States Regional South-South Development Expo was held on 18 to 20 February 2014, hosted by the State of Qatar and co-organized by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation and the United Nations Development Programme Regional Bureau for Arab States. The Expo bore the motto “Solutions to Action”. The main objective of the Expo was to serve as a platform for matching capacities of the solution providers with the needs of the solution seekers, which will potentially lead to practical exchanges of South-South solutions and experiences in the region. |
