Workshop on Turnover Indices |
ESCWA organized a training workshop on turnover indices on 22-24 May 2017, in Muscat, Oman. The workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Statistical Center of the Gulf Cooperation Council States (GCC-Stat) and the National Center for Statistics and Information in the Sultanate of Oman (NCSI). It was held in the context of implementing the activities under the project “Strengthening the Statistical Capacity of ESCWA Member Countries in Producing and Disseminating Short-term Economic Indicators for Sustainable Growth”. |

Beirut, 25 September 2019 (ESCWA)--Today, ESCWA and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) renewed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) they had signed on January 2015 to strengthen cooperation between them in the coming five years. |

New Website on UNESCWA Regional Advisory Services |
UNESCWA has just launched a new website showcasing the activities of its Programme Planning and Technical Cooperation Division (PPTCD), which plays a support role in planning, coordinating and monitoring UNESCWA projects and activities. This website will provide access to UNESCWA services as well. |

Tunisia Hosts Regional Commission's 28th Ministerial Session |

Technical Cooperation between ESCWA and Morocco |
ESCWA, represented by its Deputy Executive Secretary for Programme Support Khawla Mattar, signed on 16 March 2017 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Moroccan Ministry of General Affairs and Governance, represented by Minister Mohamad Al-Wafa. The MoU aims to provide a framework for inter-institutional dialogue and cooperation on matters of common interest in the fields of sustainable development over the period 2017-2019. |

Thirty-five judges paid a visit to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) today to learn more about the UN organization, its history, mission, and structure. The student group was greeted by the Deputy Executive Secretary of UNESCWA, Mr. Atif A. Kubursi, who briefed them on the UN, specialized agencies, and programmes, as well as specific UNESCWA programmes. |
