International Conference on Financing Sustainable Development, Alexandria, Egypt |
ESCWA, and in partnership with the Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport, organized an International Conference on Financing Sustainable Development in the Arab Region in Alexandria, Egypt during the period 17-18 December 2014. The conference focused mainly on tax efficiency, workers’ remittances and innovative sources of finance. The meeting was attended by a large number of participants from different countries and agencies interested in the topics of discussion in addition to the presence of 2 ministers from Egypt and the head of the Academy. |

Jordan national training workshop to improve use of gender statistics |
The national training workshop aims to improve technical capabilities in using gender statistics to monitor SDG Tier I and II gender indicators and in disseminating, communicating and using statistics and indicators. ESCWA certified national trainers who attended ESCWA first Training of Trainers in the Dead Sea in 2016 will present their localized modules of the Gender Statistics Toolkit |

Training on Negotiations and Dispute Resolution Over International Shared Water Resources in Jordan |
The Water and Environment Issues Team, Sustainable Development and Productivity Division at the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA), in partnership with the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources of Germany (BGR), in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in Jordan, are organizing a training entitled "Negotiations and Dispute Resolutions Over International Shared Water Resources in Jordan." The training will be taking place at the Kempinski Hotel in Amman, Jordan from 12 to 17 June 2007. |
