Mainstreaming Climate Action into National Development Planning in the Arab Region

The three-day expert group meeting was jointly organized by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and ESCWA and was convened at the Kempinski Hotel in Amman, Jordan from 25 to 27 November 2019.
 
The overall objective is to enhance the capacity and knowledge of government officials from the Arab region on how to effectively mainstream climate action into national development plans. The meeting also aims to exchange knowledge and raise awareness on best practices and opportunities for mainstreaming climate action and NDCs into national development policies, strategies, programmes and practices.
 
More than 70 participants representing relevant ministries as well as experts from development banks and institutions engaged in supporting climate action in the Arab region, attended the meeting.
