UNESCWA's Centre for Women in partnership with the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars organized the training.

With the participation of 18 contributors from Lebanon, Iraq and the region, the objective of the session was to formulate a strategy to enhance the active involvement of the domestic construction industry of Iraq in the reconstruction and maintenance of Iraq''s physical make-up.

The workshop was conducted in partnership with the local think tank, the Lebanese Centre for Policy Studies (LCPS). The Workshop was an attempt to generate a concerted effort to tackle the developments in Iraq and to examine feasible ideas that could improve Iraqi socio-economic conditions.
