random error An error, that is to say, a deviation of an observed from a true value, which behaves like a variate in the sense that any particular value occurs as though chosen at random from a probability distribution of such errors. خطأ عشوائي; خطأ عارض يمكن التعرف عليه من مشاهدة انتشار نتائج البحث إذا تكرر إجراءه بنفس الأسلوب وتحت نفس الظروف . وهذا الخطاء لا يختفي عند استخدام أسلوب الحصر الشامل وذلك لانه ينتج عن اختلاف العدادين أو اختلاف الدافع الشخصي للإجابة على أسئلة البحث وفي معظم الأحيان يكون هذا الخطاء ضئيلا ويمكن قياسه ومعرفة حدوده . ويتوقف مقدار هذا الخطأ على عاملين أساسيين هما مدى الاختلاف أو التباين بين وحدات المجتمع وحجم العينة بالنسبة للمجتمع الذي سحبت منه فكلما ازداد التباين بين وحدات المجتمع ازداد احتمال الوقوع في الخطأ العشوائي ، أما بالنسبة لحجم العينة فكلما كبر حجم العينة انخفض احتمال الوقوع في هذا الخطأ .
expected value The hypothetical average from the conceived replicates of the survey all conducted under the same essential conditions. لقيمة المتوقعة يجب حساب المتوسط الفرضيّ من نسخات مطابقة من الاستقصاء في ظلّ الظروف الاساسيّة نفسها.
acceptance rule Logical or arithmetic condition applied to a data item or data group that must be met if the data are to be considered correct. قاعدة القبول شرط منطقيّ أو حسابيّ يطبّق على بند بيانات أو مجموعة بيانات يجب الوفاء به لاعتبار البيانات صحيحة.
validation A continuous monitoring of the process of compilation and of the results of this process. التصليح (تدقيق الصلاحية) مراقبة مستمرة لعملية التجميع ولنتائج العملية.

calendar adjustment Calendar adjustment refers to the correction for calendar variations. ozone depletion Ozone depletion is the destruction of ozone in the stratosphere, where it shields the earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation. uses approach An approach to CPIs in which the consumption in some period is identified with the consumption goods and services actually used up by a household to satisfy their needs and wants (as distinct from the consumption goods and services acquired). In this approach, the consumption of consumer durables in a given period is measured by the values of the flows of services provided by the stocks of durables owned by households. These values may be estimated by the user costs. مقاربة الاستخدام وهي مقاربة للرقم القياسي لأسعار الاستهلاك الذي يتم من خلاله وصل الاستهلاك في فترة ما بالسلع والخدمات الاستهلاكية التي تستخدمها الأسرة لتلبية حاجات أفرادها ورغباتهم (التي تختلف عن السلع والخدمات الاستهلاكية المكتسبة). في هذه المقاربة، إن استهلاك السلع الاستهلاكية المعمرة في فترة معينة بقيم تدفقات الخدمات التي تقدمها مخزونات السلع المعمرة المملوكة للأسر المعيشية. ويمكن تقدير هذه القيم بتكاليف المستخدم.
