Within the framework of informing the efforts of the members of the IAEG-SDGs from Arab States, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing an Expert Consultation Meeting on SDG6 indicators on 21 December 2016 in Beirut, Lebanon.
 
The meeting will discuss and consider additional water-related indicators and the components of potential indicator methodologies that can better reflect the targets mandated in SDG6. The deliberations will be informed by experience in monitoring water-related goals and indicators in Arab States, including lessons learned from the MDG+ Initiative. The meeting aims to formulate a set of recommendations on how Arab States should support global and regional monitoring and reporting on the water-related targets and indicators.
