The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) will celebrate the Launch of the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety (2011-2020), that will be held at the UN House in Beirut on Tuesday, 17 May 2011.

This high level event will be the regional part of the international launch of the decade that will simultaneously take place by each of the five UN regional commissions during April-May 2011. The Decade was announced during the "First Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety: Time for Action" (Moscow, 19-20 November 2009). 

This highly important event will be attended by high level officials from 14 ESCWA member countries alongside youth representatives from Lebanon.
