In partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) - Iraq, the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing a four-day workshop on Strategic Planning in Amman, Jordan from 22 till 24 March 2008.  This activity is part of the "Capacity Building of the Iraqi Public Sector Management - NCCMD", a project implemented by UNDP and ESCWA in partnership with the Iraqi National Center for Consultancy and Management Development (NCCMD).

The Strategic Planning Workshop aims at establishing a medium and long term Strategic Plan for the institutional development of the National Center for Consultancy and Management Development (NCCMD), which will enhance the NCCMD’s capacities to contribute to the overall reform and upgrade of the Iraqi Public Sector.  The Strategic Planning workshop will gather eight decision makers from the NCCMD in order to establish and agree upon a comprehensive plan based on the outcomes of the Situation Analysis Consultative Meeting held from the 28 till the 31st of March 2008.

The facilitator will ensure ownership of the strategic plan through actively involving NCCMD participants in the different stages of the process.  The Strategic Plan will be developed using Eidos Think Tools®, which is a software that processes the information/inputs provided by the participants and identifies the best options to adopt in order to maximize the gain and/or impact of any given intervention based on a prioritization exercise previously performed.

Eidos Think Tools® ensures an objective analysis of the stakeholders and potential options and facilitates the identification of the most suitable scenarios to adopt in order to reach the sought goal.
