The sectoral statistics team participated at the UN-ECE Ad Hoc Group Meeting on ‎Supply of Fossil Fuels, Geneva, 10-11 November 2004, organized by the Sustainable ‎Energy Section of the Industrial Restructuring, Energy and Enterprise Development ‎Division at ECE. The participation was a follow-up on the recommendations on UNFC ‎Classification of energy reserves/resources that was held in Beirut in collaboration with ‎OPEC, UNSD and ECE in Beirut, 1 June 2004. The team provided a presentation on ‎‎"Developing Reliable Energy Statistics in the ESCWA Region", mainly focusing on data on ‎oil and gas reserves in the ESCWA region for the last five years and the ESCWA activities ‎to build capacity of member countries in energy statistics.
