Within the framework of implementing this Development Account project, the Economic Development and Globalization Division (EDGD) in ESCWA is organizing a Workshop on the Formulation of Bankable Aid for Trade Projects in the Arab region on 22-23 October 2013 in Marrakesh, Morocco.

The workshop will constitute and important mechanism to ensure that Arab countries leverage diverse forms of development finance to promote trade and development through an "investment for trade" approach. In particular, the workshop aims at sharing knowledge and information on how the different countries are developing AfT projects towards enhancing intra-Arab trade and improving participation into the global trade system through the preparation and implementation of key bankable projects that will positively impact trade patterns of the countries in the region.
