USAID, in May 2006, launched the Iraqi ICT Alliance, which is "a general partnership - devoted to promote the development of ICT in Iraq". This Alliance encourages the formation of new, and expansion of existing development projects in the ICT sector with a particular focus on training programs targeting Iraqi women and youth.
