Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). Created in 1995, with the merging of the Natural Resources and Energy Division and the Environment and Human Settlements Division. This merger also resulted in the abolition of the Joint ECLAC/UNEP Environment and Development Unit. In 1999, the Division was again divided into two: the Environment and Human Settlements Division and the Natural Resources and Infrastructure Division (formerly the Natural Resources and Energy Division).
