The College of Architecture and Planning was founded in 1984G with the Department of Architecture and Building Science as its nucleus. It was then the first academic institute of architecture in the Arabian Peninsula. In fact, the establishment of this department dates back to the year 1967G.

. تأسست كلية العمارة والتخطيط بجامعة الملك سعود في عام 1404هـ. وكان قسم العمارة وعلوم البناء النواة الأولى للكلية لتكون بذلك أول مؤسسة أكاديمية لتعليم العمارة في شبة الجزيرة العربية. ويعود إنشاء هذا القسم الذي كان أحد أقسام كلية الهندسة إلى عام 1387هـ.
