Under the umbrella of the Council of Arab Economic Unity. On the 18th December 2002, the Council of Arab Economic Unity agreed to the merging of the Arab Federation of Chambers of Shipping to work under its auspice pursuant to resolution No. 1201 / 76D and thus became the federation No. 30 among the specialized Arab Federations working within the board of Council of Arab Economic Unity.
