The study consists of four sections and a preview, in which, an account of ESCWA contributions to the subject of digital Arabic content since 2003 is summarized. Section I deals with definition of the two major sectors which provide the feed for digitization: the media content and the creative sectors, with large portions of both sectors being digitized, or are available for digitization in the future. Section I also provides an overview of the global status of digital content. Section II addresses the economic aspects of the DAC market.

The study assesses the practices undertaken by ESCWA member countries to finance the implementation of ITSAM and identifies plans at the national and regional levels.

The main objectives of this paper are to measure the ESCWA region’s central bank independence and to explore its effects on the inflation performance in these countries.



  The United Nations has always recognized the importance of addressing the principles, ideas and potentials of youth in order to achieve society’s goals. Noting the importance of youth to development, the United Nations have decided to analyze the work that the organizations have been undertaking and to map out future directions for youth research. This report contains, on one hand, surveys of existing UN research activities and it identifies, on the other hand, basic elements of a future UN research strategy.
