It recommends that the goals and targets of the MDG framework be retained beyond 2015. In addition, this bulletin includes another report entitled “A Regional Perspective on the Post-2015 United Nations Development Agenda” which identifies key priority areas for a global development agenda. |

UNESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy will be holding a press conference to launch a pioneering study on the history of women’s movements in the Arab world tomorrow, Tuesday, 18 April 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the UN House, Beirut. Lebanese women parliamentarians and Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Lebanon have been invited to this event, as well as a number of political, economic and media figures. Industrial policies implemented by ESCWA countries to help firms access information on international standards in order to enhance their international competitiveness are analysed and information access in Lebanon is featured as a case study. |
