ESCWA Centre for Women, in cooperation with Libya’s Women’s Support and Empowerment Unit, will be holding a training of trainers on 19-21 June 2019  in Tunis.

This training aims at building the knowledge and capacity of the members of Libya’s National Women’s Machinery (NWM) to engage with the relevant international human rights mechanisms, including Treaty Bodies (CEDAW Committee) and Human Rights Council (Universal Periodic Report).

With a focus on relevant international women’s human rights frameworks, such as the UN Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and Women, Peace and Security agenda, the training will contribute to the establishment of a pool of resource persons among the staff of the newly-established NWM in Libya.
