Executive Secretary Meets Lebanese Environment Minister |
ESCWA Executive Secretary Bader AlDafa held talks with Lebanese Environment Minister Mohammed Rahal and discussed environmental projects and joint cooperation. "We discussed with Minister Rahal a joint project between ESCWA and the Environment Ministry and agreed to form a task force to follow-up on the project. By next week, a technical committee from ESCWA will meet with the team from the ministry and define the objectives and the framework," AlDafa said.

ESCWA Launches “Under an Olive Tree in Palestine” Poster |
"Under an Olive Tree in Palestine" is the slogan of a poster launched today by ESCWA as part of its efforts to raise awareness about the socio-economic repercussions of Israeli occupation in Palestine, including settlements and the policies of blockades and closures. The poster was distributed to UN headquarters in New York, Geneva, Vienna and to many UN agencies in Lebanon. ESCWA also provided the Palestinian Authority and some non-governmental organizations with copies for use and circulation. |
