1 February 2021	Expert meeting to review Action plan of the 2019 Cairo Declaration for agriculture and water sectors	In response to the recommendations of the Second High-Level Joint Committee for water and agriculture that was held on 19 October 2020, the Technical Secretariat of the Joint Arab Ministerial Council for Water and Agriculture (Technical Secretariat of the AMWC and AOAD) organized with ESCWA and FAO the Expert Meeting to review and discuss the draft executive plan to activate the Cairo Declaration 2019 for joint coordination between the agricultural and water sectors.

7 November 2013	Policy Note: Development and Harmonization of Cyber Legislation in the Arab Region	The purpose of this note is to clarify the importance of cyber legislation in building the Arab knowledge society and highlight the ESCWA efforts and activities that aim at developing cyber legislation and promoting regional integration. The note also demonstrates the challenges and obstacles of the region in the context of cyber legislation and its implementation. In addition, it includes several recommendations resulting from discussions held during a number of ESCWA workshops.

19 January 2017	Call for Nominations for the 2017 United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA)	The United Nations has begun accepting nominations for the 2017 UN Public Service Awards (UNPSA). The deadline for receiving nominations for the UNPSA is 28 February 2017. The annual UNPSA was launched in 2003 in order to promote and support excellent innovations in public service delivery worldwide. In 2016, the UNPSA was reviewed and aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SDGs.
22 June 2020	Policy Brief Employing a gendered approach to transitional justice in the Arab region: Potential role of national women’s machineries	The policy brief introduces the concept of ‘transitional justice’ and its key mechanisms that may influence post-conflict reconstruction or political transition. It argues that gendered concerns should be incorporated into transitional justice and reconstruction endeavours in the same manner as women’s involvement. Moreover, it calls on national women’s machineries in the Arab region to play a proactive role in ensuring that the interests of women and girls are reflected in post-conflict and transitional justice mechanisms, and that such processes are gender responsive.
5 December 2014	Sub Regional Consultation on Labour Intensive Work Programmes as a Tool for Extending Social Protection	In the framework of its current focus on extending social protection in Arab countries, the Social Policy Section in ESCWA's Social Development Division, in cooperation with the ILO, is organizing a workshop on labour intensive work programmes for practitioners across the region. The workshop will be held at the Ministère de l’Investissement et de la Coopération Internationale in Tunisia from 25 to 26 September 2013.
