ESCWA Annual Report - 2012 |
2012 Annual report focuses on ESCWA activities that meet the priority needs of member countries. In addition to undertaking specific projects, ESCWA mobilized a regional knowledge base and prepared country plans upon request. Through those efforts, ESCWA supported member countries in economic development, food security, gender, information and communication technology, the Millennium Development Goals, national dialogue, social development, trade, transport, water and environment, and statistics. |

Expert Group Meeting on New Sources of Development Finance in the Arab Region |
The overall objective of the EGM was to find out new financial means and ways to raise financial resources for development in the Arab region with the chief aim of enhancing the productivity of the economic sectors and providing new job opportunities. The meeting provided a platform for researchers, practitioners as well as other concerned individuals to share their experiences regarding the role of innovative funding approaches in supporting development projects. The meeting carried out through several sessions organized along two consecutive days. |
