This conference, organized in partnership with the American University of Beirut, analyses the impact of conflict at the individual level on different sectors, such as health, education, employment and poverty, unifying them into a life-cycle narrative. The objective is to learn from the most recent research from prominent academics and practitioners in the different field and translate their findings into policy lessons for the Arab countries that are currently experiencing conflict. This includes identifying fragile situations, and designing programmes that better protect them, that attend to their most urgent needs and that target the most pressing issues in the immediate post-conflict phase.
