22 June 2020	Policy Brief Employing a gendered approach to transitional justice in the Arab region: Potential role of national women’s machineries	The policy brief introduces the concept of ‘transitional justice’ and its key mechanisms that may influence post-conflict reconstruction or political transition. It argues that gendered concerns should be incorporated into transitional justice and reconstruction endeavours in the same manner as women’s involvement. Moreover, it calls on national women’s machineries in the Arab region to play a proactive role in ensuring that the interests of women and girls are reflected in post-conflict and transitional justice mechanisms, and that such processes are gender responsive.
29 October 2019	High-Level Conference on "Women, Peace and Security: Measuring Progress and Addressing Gaps"	The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in partnership with the League of Arab States, UN-Women, and the Arab Institute for Women at the Lebanese American University, is organizing a high-level conference on “Women, Peace and Security: Measuring Progress and Addressing Gaps” on 7-8 November 2019 at the Landmark Hotel in Amman, Jordan.
9 May 2017	Workshop on Turnover indices	In the context of implementing the activities under the project “Strengthening the Statistical Capacity of ESCWA Member Countries in Producing and Disseminating Short-term Economic Indicators for Sustainable Growth”, UN-ESCWA, in collaboration with the Statistical Center of the Gulf Cooperation Council States (GCC-Stat) and the National Center for Statistics and Information in the Sultanate of Oman (NCSI), organized a training workshop on turnover indices.

11 December 2014	UN-ESCWA to Commemorate International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People	On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (29 November), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) is holding a meeting at 10 am on Wednesday, 29 November 2006 at the UN House, Riad El-Solh Square, Beirut. UN-ESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy and Mr. Peter Hansen, former High Commissioner of UNRWA, will address the meeting. Ms. Tallawy will be delivering the statement of the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Kofi Anan, as well as remarks by UN-ESCWA.

6 May 2014	ESCWA Annual Report 2013	During 2013, the Commission celebrated its 40th Anniversary and reiterated its commitment to member states and the overall prosperity of the Arab Region. Following a three pronged approach, the Commission sought in 2013 to assist member states in achieving economic and social integration, face the current challenges of transition through strengthened institutions, participation and enhanced capacities, and deliver equitable and sustainable growth for all.
28 June 2018	ESCWA concludes 30th Ministerial Session, adopts Beirut Consensus	Beirut, 28 June 2018 (Communication and Information Unit)—On Thursday, the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) concluded the ministerial segment of its 30^th Ministerial Session on Technology for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region under the High Patronage of the President of the Lebanese Republic, Michel Aoun.
