The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on Financial Services and Business Registers in the context of supporting the statistical capacities of National Accounts and Economic Statistics during 25-27 November, 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The main objectives of this meeting are to discuss the issues related to the financial corporations sector, in particular the subsector classifications, to identify the most appropriate methods to be used in data compilation as well as the methodologies to measure the output of the sector required for the preparation of the financial account, and to evaluate the use of the statistical and business registers within the scope of the integrated economic statistics.
