In the context of implementing the activities under  the project “Strengthening the Statistical Capacity of ESCWA Member Countries in Producing and Disseminating Short-term Economic Indicators for Sustainable Growth”, UN-ESCWA, in collaboration with the Statistical Center of the Gulf Cooperation Council States (GCC-Stat) and the National Center for Statistics and Information in the Sultanate of Oman (NCSI), organized a training workshop on turnover indices. The workshop trained participants from national statistical offices on data collection and compilation methodologies of turnover indices, including the turnover index for retail trade and the turnover index for industry. The training workshop was also a platform for experts from member countries, as well as experts from other regions, to exchange knowledge, experience and good practices in the field of turnover indicators.
