20 May 2015	ESCWA Annual Report, 2008	This Annual Report summarizes the accomplishments achieved by ESCWA under its seven subprogrammes in 2008. Using a results-based approach in reviewing those accomplishments, the report provides a comprehensive perspective on the major socio-economic development issues and challenges facing the region.
5 December 2014	First Western Asia Regional Preparatory Conference	The Western Asia Preparatory Conference for WSIS is hosted by the Lebanese Government, represented by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, in close collaboration with ESCWA, UNESCO Cairo Office and ITU. The World Bank InfoDev Programme and the UN ICT Task Force have also extended their cooperation and support for the Conference.
11 December 2014	ESCWA Launches Electronic Seminar on “Democracy and Participation”	Beirut, 13 June 2012 (ESCWA Communication and Information Unit) — ESCWA has recently launched an electronic seminar on “Democracy and Participation.” Held from 4 June to 30 July 2012, this open forum is intended to think through some of the various challenges facing democratic transitions in Arab countries, focusing on the prerequisites of democratic rule and the relationship between democracy and civic engagement.

26 June 2019	ESCWA Committee on Water convenes 13th Session	Beirut, Lebanon, 27-28 June 2019 What: The Committee on Water Resources of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is convening its 13th session. Participants will include representatives of member States, international and regional organizations and institutions, and relevant civil society organizations.
13 April 2016	Lecture Series on "The Oil Price Fluctuations and Future Market Prospects"	Within the Framework of collaboration between the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the American University of Beirut (AUB), the ESCWA-Sustainable Development Policies Division (SDPD) and the AUB-Munib and Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources are upholding a lectures series upon agreed on important energy issues in the \|Arab region.

5 December 2014	First Meeting of the Steering Committee and Workshop on Progress of Societies	ESCWA, in collaboration with the Arab Institute for Training and Research for Statistics (AITRS), are organizing two back-to-back meetings; the 1st Meeting for the Steering Committee and Workshop on Progress of Societies at the Kempinski Hotel in Amman from 3 to 4 October 2008.
26 February 2015	20th Regional Coordination Mechanism Meeting	On 11 December 2014, more than 20 UN agencies operating in the Arab region, representatives from the League of Arab States (LAS) and various embassies who were hosted at the UN House in Beirut by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) for the 20th Regional Coordination Mechanism (RCM) meeting to discuss development priority agenda items.
