Maghreb launch of the Arab MDG report |
The city of Rabat, Morocco is hosting the Launching of the Arab MDGs Report 2013: Facing Challenges and Looking Beyond 2015" tomorrow 18 January 2014. This launching, which is organised by the Ministry of Solidarity, Women, Family and Social Development of the Kingdom of Morocco, The League of Arab States and ESCWA will be followed by a training workshop on "Poverty and Inequality Measures" from 19 until 22 January 2014. On 19 January 2015, a press conference was held by ESCWA to launch the World Economic Situation and Prospects 2015 (WESP) report from the UN House in Beirut. WESP is produced at the beginning of each year by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN/DESA), the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the five UN regional commissions, ESCWA included, and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). |

The national seminar will focus on the methodologies for developing the baseline mapping study of the energy use situation in the buildings sector in Tunisia. It is an activity scheduled in the framework of the UN Development Account (UNDA) project on “Up–scaling Energy Efficiency in the residential and services sectors in the Arab Region”.
This seminar aims at launching a baseline study for the mapping of the energy use situation in the buildings sector in Tunisia and presenting the methodologies to be used by various stakeholders to the success of the project. |
