Beirut, 12 March 2021 (ESCWA)--Food systems, or the way food is produced and consumed, need a revolutionary transformation for the world to deliver on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In September of this year, the UN Secretary-General will convene a Food Systems Summit to launch bold new actions across the globe.
 

The meeting will aim to achieve the following goals:

• Provide guidance on the disability questions recommended for inclusion in the 2021 Population Census.
• Improve the census questionnaire design to produce quality data and conduct appropriate analysis with other relevant variables.

The Arab regional dialogue will be organized around the five action tracks of the Summit and examine them through the lens of the different stakeholders (NGO, research and academia, government, private sector, etc.), and will consider cross-cutting issues such as finance, innovation, and empowerment of youth, women, and other vulnerable groups.
