11 December 2014	Global Trade Facilitation Conference 18-19 November 2013 UN Regional Commissions join forces for global trade facilitation and paperless trade	The Global Trade Facilitation Conference 2013, organized by the five UN Regional Commissions just concluded in Bangkok, Thailand, calling on all countries to continue their efforts to cut red tape and simplify trade procedures in order to achieve more sustainable and inclusive development. The conference was organized during the Third Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Week held by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and is part of the ‘Joint UN Regional Commissions Approach to Trade Facilitation’.
11 December 2014	ESCWA Technical Committee on Trade Liberalization Meets in Beirut	Under the patronage of Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Nicholas Nahhas, the Technical Committee on Liberalization of Foreign Trade, Economic Globalization and Financing for Development in the Countries of the ESCWA Region opened today its seventh session. 1 April 2021	First ESCWA-LAS Joint Workshop on Developing the Arab Digital Agenda / ICT Strategy A standalone Side-Event in parallel to the 32nd Arab Working Group on the Arab ICT strategy	The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the League of Arab States (LAS) are organizing the First Joint Workshop on Developing the Arab Digital Agenda / ICT Strategy (ADAICTS) as a standalone Side-Event in parallel to the 32^nd Arab Working Group on the Arab ICT strategy. The event is being held within the framework of the strategic cooperation between the two organizations and in the context of the related track of Advancing Digital Cooperation and Development Arab States Action Programme, launched by ESCWA in 2020. The workshop aims to kick-off the process for shaping and developing the ADAICTS as a joint regional public good and to agree on the way forward with prospective partners. The participatory process will lead to the elaboration of the Unified Arab Digital Agenda for the ten coming years, expected to be finalized by the end of 2021, endorsed by the Arab ICT ministers and launched soon after.
