The main purpose of this technical paper is to provide an analysis of the responses received in the questionnaire on transport data which was sent to the national statistical offices in the Arab countries and to document the results, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of member countries’ selected transport data and providing the means and necessary tools to ensure that the data meets regional and international standards.

On the sidelines of the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP-21) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Paris in December 2015, ESCWA organized a side event on “Climate Change Impact and Vulnerability Assessments in the Arab Region”.

ESCWA held on 8 and 9 May 2017 at the UN House in Beirut an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) to conjure a common scope, definition, working parameters and methodology to qualify and quantify Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) and trade misinvoicing since, to date, there is no multilaterally agreed upon definition of IFFs or an agreed-on methodology for their measurement.

In this context, she stressed the need to develop a clear road map to address the development challenges that Yemen is facing.
