11 December 2014	UN-ESCWA Executive Secretary participates in Climate Change Conference	United Nations Under-Secretary-General and UN-ESCWA (Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) Executive Secretary Mr. Bader Omar Al Dafa delivered today 12 December 2007, a presentation on “Strategies for Adaptation and Mitigation of Climate Change in the ESCWA Region”, in the side-event organized by the five regional commissions of the United Nations, during the conference on climate change the international organization on 3-14 December in Bali, Indonesia.

26 January 2017	Future of Syria among Regional Commission’s Priorities ESCWA to Release 2nd Phase of Relevant Programme Tomorrow	The second phase of the “National Agenda for the Future of Syria (NAFS)” programme at ESCWA will be released in a plenary meeting tomorrow Friday 27 January 2017 at the United Nations House in Beirut. The meeting, which opens at 10:00 AM, will present the recommendations and final document of the Agenda’s Phase I as the “Strategic Policy Alternatives Framework-Post Conflict Syria,” and the vision of its Phase II.
20 May 2015	Survey of Economic and Social Developments in the ESCWA Region, 2008-2009, Summary	Even before the international financial crisis, the ESCWA region as a whole was not expected to meet the Millennium Development Goals in view of the already inadequate structure of existing policies. On the economic side, industrialization and full-employment policies remained elusive goals. On the social side, there were some remarkable advances in health and education, but the region was still far from realizing its developmental potential.
5 December 2014	Maghreb launch of the Arab MDG report	The city of Rabat, Morocco is hosting the Launching of the Arab MDGs Report 2013: Facing Challenges and Looking Beyond 2015" tomorrow 18 January 2014. This launching, which is organised by the Ministry of Solidarity, Women, Family and Social Development of the Kingdom of Morocco, The League of Arab States and ESCWA will be followed by a training workshop on "Poverty and Inequality Measures" from 19 until 22 January 2014.
