The website of the Arab Population and Housing Censuses (APHC) is a knowledge base of census methodological materials, questionnaires, guidance to countries on implementation population census according to the international standards and recommendations

The project aims to enhance food and water security in the Arab region through improved and coordinated policy design, strategy development and programme implementation.

The purpose of this website is two-folds: firstly, to provide a ‘one-stop shop’ for all interested stakeholders on key information related to designing immediate interventions in support of resilience, stabilization and reconciliation as well as medium to long-term reconstruction and recovery efforts in Syria; secondly, to make data, tools and training materials available to all stakeholders and to enable the exchange of experiences and good practices.

ESCWA, as part of its mission to facilitate regional cooperation and integration, has prepared this e-publication to provide up-to-date register of censuses and surveys implemented in all the Arab countries. The e-publication consolidates information and provide an insight on types and periodicity of surveys and censuses conducted in the region.
