11 December 2014	UN Deputy Secretary-General in Beirut	Beirut, 10 November 2010 (UN Information Services)-- UN Deputy Secretary-General Asha Rose Migiro arrived in Beirut this morning for a two-day visit. During her stay in the Lebanese capital, Migiro will take part in a regional meeting for coordination of the work of UN agencies and bodies in Arab countries. Migiro is scheduled to mee with Lebanese President Michel Sleiman, and with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, who will attend the UN regional meeting at the UN House in Beirut and will deliver a statement there.
11 December 2014	Executive Secretary Meets Lebanese Environment Minister	ESCWA Executive Secretary Bader AlDafa held talks with Lebanese Environment Minister Mohammed Rahal and discussed environmental projects and joint cooperation. "We discussed with Minister Rahal a joint project between ESCWA and the Environment Ministry and agreed to form a task force to follow-up on the project. By next week, a technical committee from ESCWA will meet with the team from the ministry and define the objectives and the framework," AlDafa said.
16 August 2017	Executive Secretary visits Director-General of General Security	United Nations Under-Secretary-General and EDCWA Executive Secretary Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim visited on 14 August 2017 the Director-General of the General Security, Major-General Abbas Ibrahim. During his visit, the Executive Secretary was accompanied by ESCWA Deputy Executive Secretary for Program Support Khawla Mattar and ESCWA Chief Security and Safety Section Said Jannoun. The two sides discussed cooperation and coordination between the General Directorate of the General Security and ESCWA.
7 August 2017	Executive Secretary visits former President Sleiman	United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCWA Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim visited on 7 August 2017 President Michel Sleiman in his Yarze residence. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Executive Secretary, Khawla Mattar. Both sides discussed the Commission’s activities in Lebanon and the region. They also tackled economic and social issues in addition to the National Agenda for the Future of Syria program initiated by ESCWA over three years ago.
11 December 2014	Negotiations and Dispute Resolution	UN-ESCWA, in partnership with the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources of Germany (BGR) and in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Resources in Iraq, is organizing an Advanced-Level Seminar on “Negotiations and Dispute Resolution Over International Shared Water Resources in Iraq.” The meeting will take place on 29-31 July 2008 at the UN-House in Beirut, Lebanon. The objectives of this meeting are to encourage a comprehensive vision and strategy for international negotiations on shared water resources.
11 December 2014	Ambassador of Qatar at the UN-ESCWA	On Monday 5 January 2009, Executive Secretary Bader Omar AlDafa received the newly-appointed Ambassador of Qatar to Lebanon, Saad Al Muhannadi, in his offices at the UN-ESCWA headquarters, Riad Solh, Lebanon. AlDafa presented UN-ESWCA activities and goals for the achievement of Arab regional integration.
11 December 2014	Tallawy Meets with Aboul Gheit	UNESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy met in Khartoum today with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Aboul Gheit. Discussions focused on the regional situation, what UNESCWA is providing for Palestine and Iraq, and Arab regional integration. Tallawy is in the Sudanese capital to attend the Arab Summit on 28 and 29 March 2006 as part of the United Nations delegation.
16 November 2017	Executive Secretary Visits Head of Future Parliamentary Bloc	Beirut, 14 November 2017 (Communication and Information Unit) -- United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCWA Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim today visited head of the Future Parliamentary bloc, former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. During his visit, the Executive Secretary discussed with former PM Siniora the current situation in Lebanon and the region. *****
6 September 2017	Executive Secretary Receives Chief Executive Officer of CAUS	United Nations Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Mohamed Ali Alhakim received on Tuesday 05 September 2017 Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Arab Unity Studies (CAUS) Khair El-Din Haseeb and the Centre’s Director General Luna Abu Swaireh at the UN House in Beirut. Following the meeting Abu Swaireh said discussions focused on partnership between ESCWA and the Centre in the fields of Economy, Development and Research.
20 August 2016	لا سلام في ظل استمرار إفلات إسرائيل من العقاب على انتهاكاتها	أطلقت لجنة الأمم المتحدة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغربي آسيا (الإسكوا) على موقعها الإلكتروني مذكرة الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة التي تعدّها سنوياً حول الانعكاسات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية للاحتلال الإسرائيلي على الأحوال المعيشية للشعب الفلسطيني في الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، بما فيها القدس الشرقية وللسكان العرب في الجولان السوري المحتل.
