24 February 2021	Regional Review of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration in the Arab Region: Multi-stakeholder Consultation	IOM, ESCWA, and the League of Arab States, in collaboration with the members of the Regional United Nations Network on Migration in the Arab Region, and with the support of the Secretariat of the United Nations Network on Migration, are coordinating the GCM regional review process in the Arab region. The regional review process is composed of several components to ensure the widest and most effective engagement of all relevant stakeholders.

29 July 2019	National Meeting on Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Development in the Rural Context: The Role of Renewable Energy	In the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in rural areas of the Arab region (REGEND)” project, the UN-Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) is organizing a National Meeting on “Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Development in the Rural Context: The Role of Renewable Energy”. The objective of this meeting is sharing experiences and formulating gender mainstreaming and human rights strategy and action plans to support policy makers, government and local institutions in operationalizing a gender equality and human rights approach in the energy sector in Arab countries.

6 September 2019	Regional Workshop on the Use of Census Data for Development Planning and Scientific Research in Arab Countries	The regional workshop aims to review the different ways of census data dissemination and usage in development planning; to highlight the importance of communication of census data between producers and users and the role of population and housing censuses in providing indicators of the 2030 sustainable development agenda; and to discuss how to use individual census data in the process of research and planning.
