Second High Level Joint Committee for Water and Agriculture |
The Technical Secretariat of the Joint Arab Ministerial Council for Water and Agriculture (the Technical Secretariat AMWC and AOAD) organized in cooperation with FAO and ESCWA the second high-level joint committee for water and agriculture on October 19, 2020. The meeting held during the 2020 Cairo Water Week followed up on the progress made in implementing the recommendations of the first meeting of the joint committee, and to discuss the themes and contents of the draft action plan 2021-2025 to activate the Cairo Declaration 2019. |

Management Training for the Iraqi Municipalities of Erbil and Basrah |
UNESCWA Iraq Task Force has completed two follow-up management skills training workshops for the benefit of two groups of senior government and municipal officials from Erbil and Basrah. The two training workshops are part of the UN HABITAT project “Strengthening the Urban Sector in Iraq through Building Capacities in Municipal Planning and Management” that is funded by the UNDG Iraq Trust Fund. These two workshops come as follow-up modules to two earlier ones organized by UNESCWA under the same partnership with UN HABITAT in August/September 2005. |

Regional Workshop on Arabic Domain Names and Internet Governance |
This workshop aims at disseminating knowledge to a wide array of stakeholders about Internet governance from a regional perspective. More specifically, the workshop will discuss the plans and roadmaps for the deployment of the ".arab" gTLD, the establishment of a global gTLD registry for this purpose, as well as the full-fledged implementation of IDN country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) in the Arab region.
