18 November 2019	Regional Meeting on Promoting Food and Water Security in the Arab Region	ESCWA has implemented since 2015 an initiative on promoting food and water security in the Arab region with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and in partnership with FAO-RNE, the Arab Organization for Agriculture Development (AOAD) and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD). This initiative was designed to enable policy makers address challenges related to food security and climate change within the framework of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and related Arab strategies and initiatives.

5 June 2018	Financing the 2030 Agenda: High-Level Dialogue on Domestic Resource Mobilization	The high-level dialogue addressed the adverse implications arising from illicit financial flows on the mobilization of domestic resources to implement the 2030 Agenda in the Arab region.
16 December 2019	2nd Training on GIS for the Integrated Transport System in the Arab States	UNESCWA and IsDB in cooperation with UNECE are organizing a 2^nd Training workshop on ITSAS GIS, on 18-19 December 2019.
27 August 2019	Committee on Social Development, 12th Session	The 12th session of the Committee on Social Development will address selected regional issues, including social protection reform; inclusion of older persons; and the nexus approach to implementing the 2030 Agenda.
29 June 2020	Capacity-Building Workshop on “Good Agriculture Practices for Enhanced Energy Sustainability”	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)” Project, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in partnership with the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan (MEMR) is organizing a capacity-building workshop on “Good Agriculture Practices for Enhanced Energy Sustainability”. This workshop will build the scientific and technical capacities of REGEND’s beneficiaries, on good agriculture practices through a simplified scientific and distinctive approach integrating lectures, exercises, and practical training in the field.
